Dear Sisters and Brothers of Local 375:

As you may know, last week AFSCME President Lee Saunders placed Local 375 under administratorship. This means that the national union has assumed responsibility for the day-to-day affairs of the local. We have been appointed to serve as the administrators to carry out these responsibilities. 

Meeting the needs of all Local 375 members is our top priority. We will implement protocols and procedures designed to:
•   Protect your rights as members;
•   Ensure there is fiscal accountability, responsibility and transparency; 
•   Improve the efficiency of the local’s operations, including your 
     representation in the workplace.

There will be no interruption of member service. Union representatives will continue to help you resolve job-related issues, and this week we are meeting with the presidents of each chapter to get their input and assess their current needs.

In addition, all chapter officers remain in office and continue to perform their usual functions within the chapter, including holding chapter meetings.  Also, the Local 375 Delegate Body remains as a functioning part of the local’s structure. The next regularly scheduled Delegate Body meeting is set for September 21, 2016.  

The success of our efforts will rest in part on our ability to effectively communicate with each other. Please click here to find answers to frequently asked questions that we hope you will find helpful.

To improve communication, we are also working to build home email and text messaging lists. You may now sign up for official Local 375  emails and text messages. At the top right cornor of the Local 375 website. You will see a button where you can click to sign up. In addition to our email communications, you will hear from us regularly at delegate meetings and by mail. 

Obviously, effective communication is a two-way street. We want to hear from you. We have created a brief survey where you can weigh in with your ideas for making Local 375 a more democratic and transparent union with greater member engagement.  A link to the survey is on the Local 375 web site.
