AFSCME supports a proposal in Congress to ease the financial burden on child care professionals who provide meals and snacks.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Jan. 5 announced a plan to boost the state’s tax-credit for child care, which will reduce the financial burden faced of an estimated 200,000 middle-class families across the state.

The enhanced tax credit will more than double the credit for families with incomes between $50,000 and $150,000.

The DC 37 Education Fund has signed an agreement with The City College of New York for the school to offer basic computer courses to DC 37 members.
District Council 37 leaders have launched an ambitious, multi-year plan to fortify the union by organizing thousands of new members, expanding services, developing a larger presence in the workplace and the community and improving its financial condition.
