Message from the Administration

Dear members,

In the next few weeks you will be able to actively participate in the future of Local 375. AFSCME’s 43rd International Convention will be held July 16-20, 2018 in Boston, MA. Local 375 will be sending ten (10) delegates to participate. Nominations for those delegates will take place on Thursday, May 17th at 6 pm in Room #1 at DC 37. If there are more nominees that positions, AAA will administer a mail ballot election to determine the delegates. Please take this opportunity to help determine who will best represent your interests at the convention.

Additionally, a committee of seven chapter presidents has been working with the Administratorship to amend the Local 375 Constitution. The primary purposes of these amendments are to revise or remove conflicting provisions in the current constitution, revise or remove unenforceable provisions in the current constitution and to streamline governance.

The adoption process will be as follows. All meetings will be held at DC 37; 125 Barclay St., New York City. The daytime meetings are scheduled specifically to accommodate 2nd and/or 3rd shift members.

These meetings will introduce the amendments and allow questions and discussion. Copies of the amendments will be available.

Wednesday, May 23, 2018, 6-8 pm, Room 664-669 (Local 372 Meeting Room)
Thursday, May 24, 2018, 10 am-12 pm, Room #9

These meetings will include a second reading of the amendments, an opportunity for questions and discussion and a membership vote. Ballots will be combined from the two meetings to determine ratification. Copies of the amendments will be available.

Wednesday, May 30, 2018, 9-11 am, Room #9
Wednesday, May 30, 2018, 5-9 pm, Room #2,3,4

Your participation in this process is encouraged. If you have any questions, please contact me at the Local 375 office at 212-815-1375.
