Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Hope all is well. This is just a quick update to inform everyone of a change to the Contract Pay Dates.

Our union is under attack from anti-union forces across the country. Now, more than ever, unionized workers must stand together to protect the gains that the labor movement has made over the years.

On Saturday, September 8th, unionized workers and their supporters will be taking over the streets of Manhattan. Standing strong, they will let the world know that despite the Janus decision the labor movement is very much alive. Unions will not be beaten down by Janus!

Local 375 is in the process of putting together a nomination/election committee to run an election of officers for Local 375. Any member interested in participating should contact the Local 375 office at 212-815-1375 and speak to either Administrator John English or Alba Germosen.

Ballots have been mailed out for the contract ratification by AAA. They will be counted on August 14th. If you did not receive a ballot, please call AAA during normal business hours at 800-529-5218 to request a duplicate.

Local 375 members overwhelmingly adopt a new governing document to move our union forward. The vote was conducted from July 9-11.  The vote count was 683-yes to 83-no's.

After a marathon negotiating session in late June, we concluded talks with the city on a new economic agreement, which provides for fair wage increases worth more than 7 percent and a new paid parental leave benefit.

The contract provides for a retroactive 2 percent raise on Sept. 26, 2017, a 2.25 percent increase on Sept. 26, 2018, and an additional 3 percent on Oct. 26, 2019. The contract’s term is from Sept. 26, 2017, to May 26, 2021.

DC 37/Local 375 has a tentative agreement on a new contract, this includes health insurance. A special membership meeting has been scheduled to discuss the new contract and answer questions. The meeting will be: Thursday, July 5th at 6 pm at DC 37; 125 Barclay St., Room 1-2,  New York. Please click here for the summary of the Tentative Agreement.

Ballots were counted for delegates to the AFSCME's 43rd International Convention on June 18, 2018. The delegates elected to represent your interests are: Michael Troman, Mitchell Feder, Liz Eastman, Harry Donas, Stacey Moriates, Elaine Garcia, Rebecca Freed, Mike Kenny, Migdalia Acevedo and Jennifer Rodriguez. Congratulations to the elected delegates.
