TRIPLEDEMIC UPDATE: STAY HEALTHY THRU THE HOLIDAYS
In response to the winter season tripledemic-- a rise in respiratory infections and hospitalizations due to COVID-19, the flu and RSV-- the Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, DOHMH, has issued a health advisory recommending everyone regardless of vaccination status wear a mask in indoor public settings and crowded outdoor spaces.
I hope this message finds everyone doing well. On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to wish everyone Happy Holidays and a very Happy & Healthy New Year! May we all prosper in the New Year and be blessed with good health and peace. This has been a very trying year, we faced and overcame many hurdles and obstacles. Our faith and trust in each other helped us get through the difficult times.
DC 37 worked with OLR and MetLife to create a new website for PFL
A new website that is available to city employees who are covered by the NYS Paid Family Leave program. In 2021 a survey of participants who used the program found that employees needed clear information about how to use Paid Family Leave.
In 2023, the program will improve by lowering the payroll deduction from0.511% of income to 0.455% with a lower maximum deduction of $399.43. In addition, siblings will be covered as an eligible dependent for leave.
ACT NOW: JUST TWO WEEKS LEFT to ERASE YOUR STUDENT DEBT
Dear Members:
Because of a COVID-emergency program from the U.S. Department of Education, many federal student loans are being forgiven for government or nonprofit workers. The program expires on October 31, in less than 15 days.
Please share this note with all colleagues, friends, and family who may benefit.
More than 5 million public servants are now eligible for student loan forgiveness. About 175,000 of us have already received an average of nearly $60,000! You could be next!
Hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable summer and all is well.
