Chapter 07 - Parks (Department of Parks and Recreation)
Chapter 7 represents skilled technicians who maintain and improve the living and non-living infrastructure of New York City’s parklands and public spaces. Members design playgrounds, supervise construction projects, and protect the urban tree canopy. From rescuing individual plants to realizing multimillion dollar construction projects, members keep Parks open, green, and accessible.
Members work out of the Olmsted Center in Flushing Meadows as well as other sites across the city, from the renowned Plant Ecology Center and Nursery in Staten Island to the storied Ranaqua offices in the Bronx.
