Local 375's Lesbian and Gay Issues Committee celebrated PRIDE 2017 at Local 375 Delegates meeting on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Committee members and Chapter 7 (Parks) President Ricardo Hinkle spoke about the brief history of the LGBT Committee in DC 37 and in Local 375. He explained the different LGBT rallies and demonstrations in a PowerPoint presentation.
It is with sadness that Local 375 announces the passing of former Local President Louis G. Albano. Lou served as President of Local 375 from 1980 to 1997.
Lou began his New York City career at the Transit Authority then moved on to the Board of Education where he rose through the leadership ranks of Chapter 14. In 1980, he was elected to his first term as president of Local 375.
We are under attack!!! This year more than ever it is important that we have full membership support as we face opposition to our rights to Collectively Bargain! We must send a strong message, and our stance is "When you attack one of us you attack all of us"; When you attack one union you attack all unions!!!
